Now, for a look at cutting-edge scientific innovation. The University of Rhode Island has just inaugurated its advanced Ocean Robotics Laboratory, a monumental step forward for autonomous marine research. This new facility is a cornerstone of URI's 300-million-dollar multi-phase revitalization of its Narragansett Bay Campus. In a truly unique ceremony, students Elliot Roman and Jake Bonney performed an underwater ribbon-cutting, piloting URI's remotely operated vehicle, Rhody, to mark the lab's official opening.
